Gate Operations Officer

Location: Seal Beach, CA

Golden Rain Foundation (GRF) is seeking full-time Gate Operations Officers to ensure authorized entry into the LWSB community at entry gates. This includes monitoring and controlling access at entry points and promoting and enforcing security regulations as necessary for the community's safety. Additionally, this role serves as a technical position within the Security Department, requiring strong computer skills and superior customer service.

Leisure World Seal Beach is the nation's first major planned retirement community. The community is spread over 542 park-like acres which offers resort style living with all the amenities of small-town living. The Golden Rain Foundation has been serving the needs of this community since its inception.

Qualifications:

  • Superior computer/technology skills and knowledge of basic office procedures with the ability to troubleshoot in a heavy traffic area.
  • High school diploma
  • BSIS Guard Card or obtain Proprietary Private Security Officer (PSO) certification within six months of employment.
  • Six (6) months of Security Officer, Dispatch roles, or Public Safety experience
  • Minimum of one (1) year of customer service with a working knowledge of telephone and business office etiquette.
  • A successful candidate must also pass a pre-employment physical, criminal background and drug screening.

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitates all inbound and outbound vehicle traffic and walk-in traffic at all gate entrances using gate access systems requiring superior technology skills and computer use.
  • Verifies the identity of visitors, residents, and other authorized personnel entering the community quickly and efficiently.
  • Enforces community rules and regulations regarding entry and access.
  • Troubleshoots issues with any data in the access system and immediately addresses with a solution.
  • Takes initiative in obtaining clarification and relaying information as necessary.
  • Receives and disseminates information from residents regarding expected guests.
  • Assists law enforcement and fire and medical services regarding vehicular or other incidents.
  • Provides superior customer service to the community visitors, GRF staff, residents, and vendors.
  • All other duties assigned.

Work Schedule, Compensation and Benefits:

This is a full-time, non-exempt (hourly) position requiring a 40-hour workweek and a flexible schedule that may include nights, weekends and holidays. Overtime hours may be necessary at times. Hourly pay for this position ranges between $19.85 to $27.18 per hour. Benefits eligibility begins on the first of the month after 30 days of employment and includes Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, FSA, 401(k), Pet Insurance and more.
